It is with great sadness that we post the following company announcement for our customers:
Effective February 18, 2016, our remaining stores were unexpectedly forced into bankruptcy largely in part by a third party. This was a shock to everyone involved.
Our efforts, since the December 2015 closure of 8 stores (see posting below from January 2016), have been centered around the establishment of a restructuring plan that would allow the remaining 6 stores and management to continue the work that has over the past 20 years been our passion. Despite our greatest efforts,at personal expense, to make this a reality our attempts have failed.
It is emotional to write this post, even after 10 days of working through the aftermath.
We would like to acknowledge all of our incredible Staff from the 14 cities where we have recently closed, and especially those in Prince George, Grande Prairie, Kelowna, Vernon, Nanaimo and Victoria who lost their jobs February 18th. You were unequivocally the absolute best part of Extreme. We had incredible brand support and superb Sales Reps across BC and Alberta – but you our loyal and incredible staff were our hands and hearts on the front lines. You made us proud to call you family – some of you for 10, 15 and 20 years and we are forever grateful. ~ c & e
For clarity, I will acknowledge that we had been assisting customers with unused credits or gift cards from cities with store closures. Due to the unexpected bankruptcy (and closure of all companies) there is now nothing that can be done about gift cards and outstanding store credits. We are very sorry about this loss for any customers affected by this outcome. The bankruptcy proceedings are being handled by Campbell Saunders LLC Vancouver, and contact information is posted at our former locations.
